Our Favourite Gender Neutral Baby Shower Theme & Dress Ideas

Recently a few members of our team here at P.S. Frocks have been going to A TON of baby showers (hello Covid baby boom!), which naturally raised the topic of baby shower themes. It's no surprise that people want a gender-neutral theme for many reasons, whether to announce the baby’s sex on the day or just as a personal preference.

So - if you’re here desperately looking for some ideas on the topic, we’ve got you. We decided to pull together a list of our favourite gender-neutral baby shower theme ideas that we’ve seen recently, as well as outfits from P.S. Frocks that match of course! Enjoy!

1. Mother to Bee

There’s nothing sweeter than a honey themed party, so why not go BEEyond for your special day? ;) The best thing about the honey / bee baby shower theme is that it can be as subtle or prominent as you’d like - you can focus the theme with the food and drinks or introduce it to the decor too. We’ve even seen someone add Pooh Bear imagery to take it to the next level! The limit is endless. 2. Jungle

Who doesn’t want to be surrounded by relaxing, lush greenery when you’re 6+ months pregnant? Like hello? Mid-party naps anyone? Throwing a jungle themed baby shower is a really great choice for people wanting a lowkey event - just gather up your house plants (and maybe a few of your girlfriends plants too!) and you’ve got a party. We love the idea of giving attendees a small plant as a party favour too - what a special gift for your guests!

3. French Market Theme

Think about the cheeses, pastries, salami and all the other food you may be craving, ladies, and you have THE PERFECT baby shower theme! French market is a fun concept that can be as lowkey OR highkey as you’d like. But, honestly, the more charcuterie boards the better. We love white and grey dresses for the mum for this one, our top picks would be the Paloma in White and the Mackenzie in Slate.

4. Peter Rabbit

We’re a sucker for the cliches, what can we say? The best part about a Peter Rabbit baby shower is that the theme is super gender neutral and the colour theme is so easy to incorporate into your decor, cake and other food! Why not keep it casual with an outdoor bbq to compliment the ‘outdoor garden’ theme too? We can’t go past our Callie dress in Royal Blue and our Multi Way Wrap in Powder Blue - they’re both extremely soft and stretchy around the baby bump!
